We got the chance to be the first people outside of the studio to play not just 10 or 20 minutes, but several hours of the game, set in a fictional Mediterranean archipelago. The time flew by as we tried out the vastly improved parachute and grapple mechanics, terrorized the latest dictator’s well-defended bases, and soared through the sky with the all-new wingsuit. Just Cause has never played this smoothly...
Over 4 years ago, we were graced with the awesome and ridiculous sandbox playground that is Just Cause 2. In 2015, the next installment of the franchise will be released for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Game Informer got a chance to play it for a while. Here are their thoughts. That's some pretty high praise. Game Informer has released the above cover image, and a video containing some other screens from the game. Check the video out below. -- Source --

Bungie has dropped some details in this week's "Bungie Weekly Update" regarding future updated for Destiny. The update detailed some future additions they have in store for Destiny, and quite frankly, they are very welcome. Here are some things we’ve mentioned: I'm most excited about "New economies to equip you with upgrade materials". Hopefully, this means trading with other players, and not some sort of micro-transaction market.
They also shed some light on "The Dark Below" DLC coming later this year, showing us some screens of the new areas that guardians will be travelling to. Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see how this all will be implemented. Head on over to Bungie's website for the full update. They really have Disney Infinity to thank for this one. Disney Interactive showed a revenue of $116 Million last year, up 22% year-over-year to $1.3 billion. How bad has their track record been in the past? Take a look at what Gamesindustry had to say about it: The previous year's campaign saw a loss of $87 million, which was actually the division's previous best performance. In fiscal 2012, Disney Interactive posted an operating loss of $216 million. In 2011, it was $308 million. In 2010, it was $234 million. For 2009, the first year Disney broke out the Interactive segment in its numbers, it reported a loss of $295 million. And just so investors would have something to compare that against, it said 2008's operating loss would have been $258 million. Those are some very disappointing numbers to be sure. I think it's safe to say that Disney Infinity pulled Disney Interactive back into the black all by itself, considering that just three months after it's launch, they had already sold three million units, and they are still selling.
These numbers were reported just days after the launch of Disney Infinity 2.0, and we can expect the sequel to have a strong holiday season, considering Marvel characters are now entering the fray. One can only guess at how they'll be doing next year. Keep it up guys. -- Source -- It appears the rumors were true this time. Animation director for GTA V, Rob Nelson, has confirmed that there will be a first-person mode in the new PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of GTA V. He stated: Obviously, we felt like one of the most compelling things you could do to make an experience people have had before feel different was the new first-person mode. This all comes from an interview with IGN. Later on in the interview, Nelson talks about the large amount of work it took to give the players a great first-person experience in a traditionally third-person game. You have to change pretty much everything. I mean, if you want to do it right. We have a very solid third-person animation system, but you don't just put the camera down there and expect to see the guns, aim, and shoot. All those animations are new when you switch to first-person, because it all has to be animated to the camera, to make it feel like a proper first-person experience that I think people would expect. All the timings have to be re-evaluated. GTA V will release on PS4, and Xbox One on November 18, while the PC version will release in January. Does this new addition change your mind about purchasing? If you're not sure, you can check out the first-person trailer below. If there was ever a game built for speed runs, it would be Mirror's Edge. The first-person platformer is practically begging the player to find new and interesting ways to finish it's levels in the fastest time. Youtube is filled with speed running hopefuls, trying to leave their mark on the title, but only one person can hold the world record.
Twitch user Requiem720 has just beaten the main campaign for Mirror's Edge in 36:41. Lucky for us, he has the whole thing on Twitch. I'll just stop talking now, and let you check out the video below. -- Source -- |
