It's a good week for speed runs. Kotaku has just reported that Bethesda's Fallout 3 (a game typically known for its astounding length) has been beaten in under 24 minutes, creating a new world record. Speedrunner BubblesDelFuego clocked in at 23:55, beating the old record by a mere 25 seconds. The video can be seen below. -- Source -- |

While perhaps not directly related to gaming, Youtube has announced that support for streaming 60 fps video will begin, "in the coming months". You can, however, get a taste of the awesomeness by watching the preview of the feature below. Along with support for higher framerates, Youtube will also be adding "Tip Jars" to the site. With regards to these, Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki states, "any viewer can show any creator their love by tipping them any amount between $1 and $500."
-- Source -- Blizzard has indicated that they hope to deliver Hearthstone's single player expansion, "Curse of Naxxramas" next month. Community manager "Aratil" stated this regarding the expansion, "Just wanted to give everyone a head's up that we are currently targeting to release Curse of Naxxramas during the month of July. Unfortunately, we still have a lot of implementing and bug fixing to get through, so please stay tuned!”
Hearthstone is currently multiplayer only, with the exception of practice modes. A single player quest will be a welcome change to the game. -- Source -- Kotaku reports that a new world record has been set for finishing Super Mario Bros. on the NES. The new record holder, known as "Blubbler", clocked in a completion time of 4:57.69. The previous record? A pokey 4:58.09, which is less then a second slower. Source - Kotaku A new press release states that The Banner Saga, the beautifully hand drawn, crowd funded RPG, will make it's debut on tablets this summer. The press release tells us that it will be coming to iPad, Windows, and Android tablets. A brief description of the game from the press release: An epic Viking saga brought to life in 2D glory – beautifully hand drawn combat sequences and animations, accompanied by an evocative score from Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, will immerse you into a fantasy realm inspired by Norse mythology. The Banner Saga saw generally favorable reviews upon its release to the PC a few months back. Being heavily mouse based, the game should be a good fit for tablets.
Source In a recent tweet, No Man's Sky studio Hello Games indicated that they are not ruling out other platforms for their title. This is good news for folks who hoped to play the game, but don't have the coin for a new console.
Source Sources are indicating that Crytek is having problems paying their employees on time, according to Kotaku. Crytek is most well known for it's Crysis Trilogy, and more recently, Ryse for the XBOX 1. According to Kotaku, things are so bad that the company has cancelled work on Ryse 2, among other projects.
Source Ori and the Blind Forest may just be the sleeper hit of E3 2014. The Metroid-vania style platformer from Moon Studios showcased some beautiful artwork, and hints at a story that just might tug at your heartstrings. Ori and the Blind Forest will release on Xbox One and PC this Fall.
