Microsoft announced today that Kinect for XBOX One will soon be available as a standalone purchase. Starting October 7, you'll be able to pick one up for a cool $149.99. This means that if you don't already have a Kinect-less Xbox One, and you want the peripheral, it will still be $50 cheaper to buy the bundle, rather than buy them separately. Here is Microsoft's full announcement: Since we announced the availability of a new Xbox One console option for $399, we have been excited by the response from fans. While we’ve seen our Xbox One sales double since the new Xbox One option became available, we have also seen increased demand for Xbox One with Kinect. -- Source --
Xbox Live Gold subscribers are getting some more special treatment. It seems that in addition to free games every month, Microsoft will begin offering free 24-hour long demos for specific titles for Gold subscribers. The service will be called "Free Play Day". Think Steam or Origin free weekends, but for the Xbox One. Nothing has been officially announced yet, but images have leaked showing that the first offering will be Max: Curse of the Brotherhood.
-- Source -- Dishonored for Xbox 360 has officially been placed on the Free Games with Gold list, replacing Motocross Madness. The stealth/action game originally released in 2012 to generally positive reviews. The 360 version currently holds a metacritic score of 88/100. If the game interested you at all, now is the time to pick it up.

With the system now costing $100 less than before, the company was able to make the following statement, "we've seen sales of Xbox One more than double in the US, compared to sales in May." Originally, the Xbox One had a price tag of $499, however, since May 9th consumers have had the choice to buy the unit without Kinect for $100 less.
-- Source -- If you were waiting to upgrade your Xbox 360 to an Xbox One, now might be a good time to do it. Microsoft is offering some users $75 credit to their Xbox Live account to upgrade their system. The catch? You may not qualify. Apparently, the offer only applies to their "very best customers" (whatever that means) and is currently US only. To see if you qualify, turn on your Xbox 360 and log in to Live. It should tell you there. Good luck.
